Why you need a coach…

I don’t have time for coaching…

As busy mums our lives are hectic and frantic, we rarely have an opportunity to slow down and take stock of what we want, what is holding us back from what we want, what is working well and what areas of our lives need our time and attention. We tell ourselves that once the kids get older, ill focus on myself. When the kids start school, ill have time for myself; when the kids go to secondary school, ill start doing more for myself…. and so on and so on.

Life doesn’t wait

The bad news is that life doese’t wait, life happens while you re waiting for the right time. The years pass as you wait until you have more time, more energy, more money.

Life coaching can be helpful for individuals who feel stuck, trapped, or dissatisfied with their current life circumstances, and who are looking for support in making positive changes and achieving greater success and fulfillment in their personal and professional lives.

Life coaching is a process where a coach helps people achieve their personal or professional goals by providing guidance, support, and encouragement; by asking questions and listening to the answers and picking up on gestures and body language.

The one to one relationship with client and coach is based on mutual understanding that the client has the answers and the coach facilitates self-awareness and new perspective.

Who needs a life coach?

A life coach works people, just like you; to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and values, and helps them develop strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams and create the life that excites them.

Coaches use techniques, such as goal setting, visualization, and positive reinforcement, to help clients achieve their goals and improve their lives and enhance their overall sense of well-being.

Committing to time for yourself as a busy mum can feel selfish because we are conditioned to put everyone else’s needs ahead of their own.

In my opinion, it is selfless to improve areas of your life that are causing you stress or keeping you stuck.

Becoming the “best” version of yourself is a gift for you and your family, because they don’t care about how tidy the house is, how organaised your cupboards are, or what colour t shirt matches their jeans, what fresh flowers smell like?

Being happy, being present & investing in yourself, is setting an example for your children to priorities their needs and value their happiness and well-being.

The coaching process involves identifying areas of life where you would like to make positive changes, such as career, relationships, health, or personal growth. A life coach helps the client set goals, create a plan of action, and stay accountable to their commitments.

Think of a coach like a team cheerleader, cheering when you score and cheering when you don’t, always on the sideline motivating you to keep trying”

How is coaching different to counselling?

Life coaching is not counseling. While a therapist focuses on emotional healing, a life coach focuses on creating positive change in a person's life by building on their strengths and helping them see their potential.

Life coaching is different from therapy in that it focuses on the present and the future rather than on the past, and it is more action-oriented, with the coach helps their clients take steps towards achieving their goals.
